My Ward Family can be traced back to James Ward, bn 1754, Abermarle VA, married Elizabeth Henson, August 11, 1779 in Montgomery County Virginia.
One of their sons, William Ward, born about 1800, in North Carolina, Virginia or Tennessee depending on which record you choose to believe. He also could have been from all these locations and not really moved untill about 1834 to Illinois, since the borders near the "New River Settlements" and the "Wautauga Settlements" in Washington County Tennessee changed several times.
William Ward married Lucinda (Duncan) Anderson on January 16, 1828 in Greene County, Tennessee. He was with the 3rd Regiment, East Tennessee Militia in 1830 and 1832 as recorded by Federal and State Census for those years.
James and William's descendants are listed on these pages, (over 120 pages), with the exceptions of the ones we have not located , but are actively seeking in our continuing research.
