Recent record finds have enabled us to locate the first husband of Lucinda Duncan. We have not located the actual marriage date or place but now have at least 2 records stating that James C Anderson , born 1782 in Virginia, died 1824 in Greene County Tennessee, as stated in a Deed / Estate Record from that county. Pierce B Anderson was the exectutor of this estate. His granddaughter, Martha Lucinda Anderson signed this document in 1859. Upon searching the LDS site we located records that confirmed this, and that James C Anderson's wife was indeed a Lucinda (Duncan) Anderson. Martha Lucinda Anderson appears to be the only child of this union.
We did also find records showing a second James C. Anderson (not related) that married a Lucinda (unknown) that was born 1825, in Williamson ,County Tennessee. This second couple lived out thier lives in Williamson County Tennessee and that James C. died before 1860.


Greene County Tennessee

Lucinda Duncan was born about 1795 in N Carolina and married (1) James C Anderson before 1812. James C Anderson died 1824 in Greene County Tennessee. Lucinda married 2nd William Ward on Jan 16, 1828 in Greene county Tennessee.

           (i) Martha Lucinda Anderson born 1812 in Greene County,Tennessee,
                  she married Peter L. Harmon, born 12 August 1807, Greene County
                  Tennessee, on 1 January, 1833 in Greene County Tennessee.

                Harrison  Jackson Ballard on  Sept 4, 1851 in Greene Co Ill.

          (iii) Eliza Ruth Ward born 1835 Tennessee, Married Jacob M. Rhoades on July 27,
                 1853 in Greene Co. Ill.

           (iv)William Taylor Ward born 1836-7,Kentucky, Married (1)Nancy Edwards (2)Sinthia
                 C. Gilliland on Nov 14, 1858 in Greene Co. Ill.

           (v) Mahala Ward born 1838 in Greene Co Ill Married (1)Elisha Rhoades on Mar 26,
                1857 in Greene Co.Ill. 

           (vi) Jasper Newton Ward born Apr 16,1842 at Carrollton Ill Married (1)Dorleska A.     
                  Ballard on Sept 8,1864 in Greene Co. Ill, (2)Mary Buckner Oct 22,1897 in Greene
                  County Illinois.

          (vii) Francis Marion Ward born 1843 in Greene Co ,Ill. Married (1)Susan Whiteside on
                  Dec  24, 1863 in Greene Co. Ill.(2) Sarah D Trimble
