The Ezekiel and Mary 'Polly' Edwards Family
We have just recently found that this family has several connections to our Ward Family.
The first connection we have found is that Nancy C Edwards was married to William Taylor Ward in Greene County Illinois on October 16, 1856.Unfortunately, Nancy died on 5 March 1858 at the age of 19 years, 9 months, and 25 days.
Ezekiel and Mary "polly" Edwards were enumerated on the:

Ezekiel and Mary Edwards had a large family, which was not uncommon for those times. There appears to have been a question about the spelling of Mahulu's name, either during transcription or enumeration. Nancy Edwards was 13 years old at this enumeration, which would have made her 19 at the time of her marriage.
Two children down from Nancy was Mary Edwards, her full name was Mary Angeline Edwards and she was born abt 1841. She married John Miller Lee in Greene County
Illinois, about 1858. They had the following children;

          (i) Thomas Lee born about 1866 married Eliza Ward born 1870, Daughter of
                Jasper Newton & Dora (Ballard) Ward

          (ii) Ann Lee

         (iii) Loey Lee

         (iv) Elizabeth Lee

         (v) Mary Susanna Lee born 31 October 1860, married Elbert S Ballard, son of
                 Harrison J & Mary J (Ward) Ballard

         (vi) William Lee born 3 Febuary 1862

We have known of Mary Susanna Lee being Elbert Surveyor Ballards wife, and That a Thomas Lee was married to Eliza Ward, but just recently we have found that all the Lee and Edwards surnames were related to each other. It really is a small world, after all .
